XILO: Metal Coffee Table

Inspired by Art Nouveau, Xilo’s aesthetic is characterized by sinuous and refined forms that alternate in a non-regular way. The coffee table is composed of thick brass sheets, rounded at the ends and of different lengths, bent and placed together with irregularity to create a rhythmic and harmonious movement that merges with the supporting structure.

To give value to metals and their workings, each element presents a distinctive texture of imprints that repeats over the entire surface. Xilo easily enters into symbiosis with the environment in which it is inserted, transforming according to need, both in form and in function. Thanks indeed to the modular structure, which we thought of, Xilo can assume different geometric forms and be a coffee table but at the same time could become a bench.

It is therefore a true metal sculpture that enhances and unites artisanal techniques, the company’s productive excellence, and an in-depth study of product design applied to furnishings. The marks impressed on Xilo’s surface are a memory of manual processing that testifies to De Castelli’s high artisanal capacity and are the outcome of continuous research on material.
